FAST Logistics Group, the Philippines’ leading provider of end-to-end logistics, highlighted the critical role of engineering and innovation in advancing supply chain solutions.

In a symposium organized by Industrial Engineering students from the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), FAST ColdChain Business Unit Head Marc Anthony Dizon underscored the transformative impact of engineering on logistics and the broader economy.

“Technology is no longer an option if we want to become world-class,” Marc said. “With the current technologies we are utilizing, we can move fast already, but the world does not stop developing. Engineers are at the forefront of these changes,” he said, addressing a crowd of students from the UA&P and various high schools on Wednesday, August 27.

With the forum’s theme “Introduction to Engineering and Tech Entrepreneurship,” students were encouraged to merge technical knowledge with entrepreneurial thinking as they prepare to enter the workforce.

The future, Marc said, belongs to those who can integrate technology with entrepreneurship, creating sustainable and scalable solutions that will benefit industries and society at large.

Powering Modern Supply Chain

In his talk, Marc explained how engineering forms the backbone of logistics. From the design and establishment of warehouses to the management of fleet and equipment, every stage of supply chain operations depends on technical expertise.

Beyond physical infrastructure, engineering also drives the creation of digital solutions and systems that enable companies to respond quickly to customer demands, he said.

Marc further noted that engineering also powers green logistics practices, ensuring safety, compliance, and sustainability while optimizing processes for long-term competitiveness and cost savings.

FAST Logistics Group joined the “Kickstart: SInE Annual Forum 2025” at UA&P on August 27, where ColdChain Business Unit Head Marc Anthony Dizon highlighted the vital role of engineering and innovation in advancing logistics and the economy. He urged students to combine technology with entrepreneurial thinking, stressing that engineers are at the forefront of driving sustainable supply chain solutions.

During the forum, Marc also noted that technology-driven operations are central to FAST’s ability to deliver efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and customer satisfaction.

“At FAST, we believe that tech-driven operations not only make tasks easier,” he explained. “They also deliver better and faster services, evolving together with the developing requirements of our most discerning customers.”

Reflecting on FAST’s growth story, Marc said the company’s success stems from a deliberate combination of engineering expertise, entrepreneurial vision, and a people-first philosophy.

He explained that logistics is a process, and every process can either be complicated or simplified. FAST has consistently chosen to simplify—making operations faster, easier, and more convenient for customers.

At the same time, an entrepreneurial mindset provided the company with its vision to be the leading provider of value-adding supply chain solutions in the country.

“Engineering builds. Entrepreneurship drives. People sustain,” he said.

Engineering and Logistics for Nation-Building

Marc encouraged students to see Engineering not just as a profession, but as a means of nation-building.

He stressed that FAST has been pioneering innovation and solutions in Philippine logistics, but it is up to the next generation of engineers to push those efforts even further.

“This is your time, this is your moment. We need you. The country needs more of you. Let us show the world that our country is a force to be reckoned with,” Marc stated.

“We at FAST have planted the seeds. It is your turn to move it forward. Not only for yourselves but also for Filipinos,” he said.

The forum gathered Industrial Engineering students from UA&P alongside high school participants, including those from Caritas Don Bosco Laguna. During the forum held at PLDT Hall, resource speakers underscored the importance of integrating technology to solve real-world challenges and improve people’s lives.

In addition, Marc emphasized to the audience that logistics is a cornerstone of national progress.

Logistics, he explained, ensures that food, clothes, and technology reach Filipino families.

“We not only move products and parcels — we help move our country to greater heights. That is why FAST continues to lead the logistics industry in the Philippines,” he said.

FAST Logistics Group has positioned itself at the forefront of the nation’s logistics industry. With unmatched capabilities in transport, warehousing, and value-added services, supported by a robust nationwide network, FAST continues to redefine what it means to deliver end-to-end supply chain solutions.
