FAST Logistics Group, the country’s leading provider of end-to-end logistics, reinforced its industry leadership by formalizing its commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

FAST CEO for Logistics Manuel L. Onrejas Jr. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Energy Development Corporation, which founded the Net Zero Carbon Alliance (NZCA). The NZCA is the country’s largest multi-sectoral movement that unites businesses in the pursuit of net zero.

Through this agreement, FAST becomes the first end-to-end logistics provider to join the alliance.

Under the agreement, FAST committed to taking the necessary steps recommended by NZCA to achieve Net Zero on or before 2050.

These include monitoring and reducing fuel consumption and waste across FAST sites, as well as adopting renewable energy in transport and warehouse operations whenever possible.

FAST also pledged to continue engaging with key suppliers to develop plans and practices that support its Net Zero goal.

“Our journey to net zero carbon is driven by the belief that logistics move goods — and also drive positive change. We want to help create a future that is better for our business, and for communities and the next generation of Filipinos,” Onrejas said.

Leading logistics provider FAST Logistics Group has joined the growing number of companies committing to achieving a net zero carbon state by 2050. This milestone underscores its dedication to sustainability and its leadership role in shaping the future of green logistics in the Philippines.

The MOU signing coincided with the Net Zero Carbon Alliance Conference held at SMX Aura Convention Center on Thursday, 18 September. The event gathered business leaders and sustainability advocates to discuss challenges, opportunities, and trends in the net-zero transition.

With the theme, “From Ambition to Action: Unlocking Opportunities in the Net Zero Transition,” the conference emphasized the importance of corporate initiatives in overcoming roadblocks and accelerating the shift to eco-friendly practices.

FAST’s partnership with NZCA builds on its recent announcement of its Net Zero by 2050 pledge, guided by a board-approved decarbonization target of cutting direct emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) by 55% by 2030, using 2023 as the baseline year.

Sustainability in Logistics

The leading logistics provider also publicly shared its ESG strategy anchored on four priorities, namely, promoting customer welfare and satisfaction, creating a safe and empowered workplace, transitioning to a low-carbon economy, and ensuring strong government and risk management.

FAST also pioneered the use of the fully electric truck in the Philippine logistics industry.

“Every sustainable step we take today creates a cleaner, greener tomorrow. With every sustainable solution, we move closer to smarter, more efficient logistics for the Philippines,” Onrejas added.

This strategy reflects FAST’s mission of providing Logistics Para Sa Bayan to serve both people and the planet, as well as supporting businesses of all sizes by integrating sustainability into its core operations. Connect with our Solutions Experts to learn more
