FAST Logistics Group, the Philippines’ premier end-to-end logistics company, upholds ‘Paskong Pinoy’ traditions of Filipino households with Super 8’s Christmas bundle packs, through Value Added Services.

As familiar melodies of carols and the streets glow with vibrant Parol decorations, the cherished tradition of Noche Buena in the Philippines has become a cultural tapestry, woven with unique traditions. And with the celebration of Paskong Pinoy holds a special place for Christmas baskets, serving as more than just a collection of festive goodies.

For Filipino families, each curated Christmas basket of traditional delicacies symbolizes the warmth of shared moments and the joy of giving. This is shown in the transition from December of the preceding year to January, Filipinos demonstrated a 7% rise in spending on fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), as opposed to the remainder of the year.

FAST Logistics Group, the country’s leading company in logistics and selling distribution solutions, sheds light into the process that goes behind guaranteeing the on-time arrival of Super 8’s Noche Buena Christmas baskets and bundle packs, from warehouse to store displays, which eventually reach Filipino households and communities.

Harmony in Tradition and Collaborative Partnership

The early assembly of the Christmas baskets and bundle packs was enabled by the partnership between FAST and Super 8, a chain of grocery retail outlets based in North and South Luzon, to meet the rising demands of Filipino consumers in time for the season.

With Value Added Services (VAS) as the custom-packaging solution employed to meet the business requirement, the company was able to help with the assembly processes; from picking, custom-made labeling and packing the semi-finished goods, to making the on-time deliveries of the consumer-ready products for delivery and market stall display.

According to FAST Senior Operations Manager Maria Cynthia Castillo, the company has marked a significant three-year milestone into their partnership with Super 8, and that “As early as September, we were already in discussion about bundling activities for these Christmas baskets.”

The partnership between FAST and Super 8 also extends to the implementation of Warehouse Management System (WMS) in their warehousing operations to ensure the seamless availability of competitively priced products at conveniently located grocery stores. Ms. Castillo added that the strategy behind the process and implementation of Value Added Services in the assembly was achieved, “by carefully planning out our warehouse requirements in terms of manpower, our space for our picking lines, and our collaborative day-to-day output.”

In the timely assembly and delivery of Super 8’s Christmas baskets and bundle packs to store locations, every role in the process played a crucial and interdependent part. From pickers, bundlers, and delivery men who ensured prompt transportation to store branch managers who integrate these holiday offerings into the retail space.
