Driving Green Logistics

FAST’s ESG programs place a strong focus on reducing energy consumption and lowering carbon emissions through energy-efficient logistics strategies and the use of advanced systems for smarter operations.

Currently, two buildings at the FAST Logistics Hub in Cabuyao, Laguna operate entirely on renewable energy, one of which has been recognized by multinational company Kenvue as among the few 100% renewable-powered distribution centers in the Asia-Pacific region.

FAST has also installed solar panels at its ColdChain Hub in Imus, Cavite to further boost energy efficiency and lower electricity costs.

In transportation, the company has deployed fully electric vehicles (EVs) powered by solar energy, resulting in substantial reductions in carbon emissions. These vehicles are equipped with GPS and AI-powered dashcams to ensure an efficient and safe transport of products.

Moreover, FAST utilizes a Transport Management System (TMS) developed by its in-house Solutions Engineers to automate truckload planning and optimize delivery routes, cutting the number of trucks on the road and reducing fuel consumption.

“As logistics remains a significant contributor to carbon emissions, it is our responsibility to lead the way in reducing environmental impact through renewable energy, electric vehicles, and smarter operations,” Leo emphasized.

He also stressed the importance of data and analytics in driving sustainability, noting that real-time tracking, predictive maintenance, and AI-powered route optimization allow FAST to maximize efficiency while minimizing its environmental footprint.

“Through data, innovation, and collaboration, we can make Philippine logistics a global example of how efficiency and sustainability go hand in hand,” Leo added.

For its efforts, FAST received the Sustainability and Green Logistics Award for Logistics Providers at the 2024 SCMAP Supply Chain Excellence Awards—the first edition of the awards.

As an industry leader in Philippine logistics, FAST participates in events such as the 3rd General Membership Meeting of the Philippine Institute for Supply Management to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing toward sustainable supply chain.

Empowering Filipino Supply Chain Professionals

FAST’s ESG commitment extends to creating a safe and empowered workplace. The company, through its FAST Learning and Innovation Hub, provides TESDA-accredited warehouse programs and forklift operations courses for employees and aspiring recruits, designed specifically for Filipino supply chain workers.

These programs are also open to employees from other companies, fostering wider industry growth.

Leo shared that every investment in employee development is also an investment in strengthening the country’s supply chain.

“When we equip Filipino supply chain workers with the skills and confidence they need, we are building their careers while creating a stronger, more resilient logistics network for the entire nation.”
