FAST Logistics Group and Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation launched an electric vehicle for heavy-duty transport logistics on Friday, October 10, at Ajinomoto’s solar-powered warehouse in Bulacan.
Alongside the EV launch, the two companies inaugurated a high-capacity EV charging station at Ajinomoto’s Bulacan facility. Another charger at FAST’s Laguna hub is on standby to ensure continuous operational readiness.
This milestone marks a major step toward advancing sustainable logistics operations in the country.
Built for large-scale deliveries, the newly launched electric vehicle is a Prime Mover equipped with a customized 40-foot trailer wing van—a first of its kind in the Philippines.
It can carry loads of up to 25 tons and runs on a 423 kWh battery that fully charges in just 1 hour and 30 minutes. With an energy consumption rate of 1.2 kWh per kilometer, the EV can travel between 200 and 350 kilometers on a full charge, depending on road conditions.
The electric vehicle is supported by a dedicated EV charger at Ajinomoto Philippines’ facility in Guiguinto, Bulacan. Another charger at FAST’s Laguna hub to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Through this initiative, FAST supports Ajinomoto Philippines’ goal of cutting its environmental impact by 50% by 2030. The electric vehicle is expected to make about 20 trips each month, helping them avoid roughly 130 metric tons of carbon emissions annually.
FAST’s VP for Strategic Growth Initiatives Gladys Ceniza, Business Unit Head for Inland Transport Olivier Encabo, and Head of Solutions Ely Baleta, as well as APC Senior Vice President Makoto Tanabe and APC Chief Sustainability Officer Ernie Carlos, led the ceremony.
“We thank FAST Logistics for their partnership, which enables us to distribute our products with essentially zero emissions. Together, we are glad to set a new benchmark for green transport in the food industry,” Mr. Carlos said.

With Ajinomoto Philippines integrating an electric vehicle into its supply chain operations, FAST hopes that more Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies will follow suit in adopting greener logistics solutions.
“As major players in the business industry, FMCG companies possess the scale, resources, and flexibility to lead this transformation toward greener and more sustainable logistics solutions,” she said. “Their initiatives will accelerate the collective shift toward a low-carbon future.”
